The star has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound Mercury Prize cash to the MVT, which operates to preserve the United Kingdom's independent live music spots.

He was presented with the award on mid-October as his third album his work was named the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

He has decided to donate the funds to the MVT, in recognition of the essential function local spots had in his initial steps.

"I would not have achieved this success if it wasn't for all the performances I performed around the area, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," remarked the artist. "These locations are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have ceased operations – about one-sixth of the total UK scene.

Recently, major artists like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its attempts to help venues survive, by adding a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits local stages.

He also took part, generating in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous local spots across the UK.

These funds supported spaces that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and sound issues.

Additional spaces obtained funding support in modernizing infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted musicians and fans.

"The notion that revenue from concerts in big venues backs the independent spots, where it begins for performers like me, is just logical," the star has stated.

Fender is among several artists to give his Mercury Prize winnings to good deeds.

Back when they received the trophy in the year 1996 for their release the album, lead singer Cocker stated that the act would give their prize money to the non-profit the charity.

In 2002, artist the artist split her bounty among multiple organizations, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.

"And I contributed a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," Ms Dynamite explained to outlets.

Previously, Ezra Collective donated their funds to the community center that developed their act, alongside other local music groups.

And 1994 winners M People gave their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was diagnosed the condition.

"Receiving the award was ample," stated vocalist Small. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't need the extra, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted another person's life."

Last week, the trust shared it had saved two local spots in that region, by bringing them into public stewardship.

One venue in the city and The Croft in that location were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is backed by a national body and supporters who purchase "shares" in the buildings.
