A man who spiked treats with tranquilliser and gave them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual offenses against two boys both nine and ten years old.

The defendant was detained after eight children and one adult experienced illness at the location in July.

The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a series of 17 offences when he stood at the judicial center on Friday.

Nevertheless, he disputed a single sexual charge he was facing, which was concerning a nine-year-old boy.

Ruben was held in detention prior to a further hearing on November 28th.

'Candy game'

The legal representative, prosecuting, detailed the criminal behavior to the court.

She stated his victims were children from difficult backgrounds who were staying at a youth camp which he managed.

The defendant engaged in a "treat game" with the children, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".

She told the court Ruben had played this game with the young males "over an extended period", and minors had previously fallen ill the following morning.

She said the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the minors being "overexcited from fun", until his family member had concerns in recently.

The legal representative continued: "In the summer" his stepchild had suspicions about what was going on, for good reason.

"They decided to investigate in the man's possessions."

The prosecutor said materials including lubricant, petroleum jelly and injection devices were found, and his stepson alerted the law enforcement about his suspicions.

She explained the man proceeded to engage in the "candy game" with six youngsters that time - that Saturday - and they were all sick the following morning.

"Law enforcement" had not responded by that time," she added.

The oversight body, the police conduct office, previously told that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the events.

Mrs Prior said the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the family member contacted the police once more.

She stated the man then conducted the "candy game" in a room of five children.
